My wife and I have recently finished our first dive course in the UK. We upgraded immediately to a sophisticated course and were considering having a scuba vacation. One that would blow our mind, so we selected the Red Sea. We chose the Red Sea over other locations as the prices of faccommodation were so inexpensive. We had thought of taking a scuba vacation in the Maldives but the charges were simply unaffordable.
We also wished to be in a place with few tourists so we did not look into Sharm but , wandering on the net we found this place called Safaga. The nice thing about Safaga is that it's also gusty. This was the 1st scuba diving holiday that we ever took. To make things easier and enjoyable we went through a company that focus only on sports abroad which tailor quoted our scuba diving holiday. We managed to choose from a wide selection of accommodations and a few dive schools. The dive college was well run by friendly, inviting and funny professionals who all took their job gravely and enthusiastically. They certainly helped to make sure our trip vacation was to be remembered for a long time!

During out two weeks scuba diving vacation, we dived twice a day and I got 4 full days of windsurfing too while my other half was relaxing by the fascinating pool. The dive sites were just amazing ( although we skipped the Salem wreck, out of respect of the 300 casualties ).

During this scuba diving vacation, we did not dive twice at the same spot and witnessed so much sea life that I can not recall the whole thing. The high point of the dives was this meeting with this beautiful manta ray which got so close to my other half that she was able to touch it. We got a little shocked when a whitetip shark became a little too curious to our liking! The fish were so attractive it made me feel guilty to have fed on them the prior evening!

For a first scuba diving holiday, we will say it was just superb. We were talking about purchasing another diving holiday next spring, back to Egypt as they are such a lot of dive sites to enjoy. The proximity of the pacific makes it famous for wreck dives, that will be the centre point of our next amazing vacation.
